On Monday evening, we were lucky to have a perfect view here on Pomeroy Reserve
of the partial lunar eclipse. With no light pollution and a perfect clear sky the eclipse was so
clearly visible. It’s always fascinating seeing these natural displays and with the amazing
clear skies here in South Africa we are truly lucky. From 10th August to 13th we are expecting
to be able to see the Perseid meteor showers, some say they could be the best for 96 years,
but other experts say it is just a rumour. Rumour or not we still hope to be counting the
shooting stars. The full moon this week has also been incredibly bright, no need for street
lamps here!
