We are delighted to report that Athena, our new female giraffe here on Pomeroy Reserve
has settled in very well. She is extremely relaxed here in her new home. She is obviously
used to people and is happy to come fairly close to the vehicle for a ‘chat’. The other day
we came across her happily chewing a bone she had found (quite a favourite occupation of
our giraffe). Her face was contorted in the most ridiculous way as she relished the delicacy.
Her tongue manoeuvring it deftly round her mouth.
