Everybody knows that pigs love mud, and the Warthog here on Pomeroy Reserve are no
exception. You can spot the muddy hollows they make on the edge of a stream, which has
got smoothed into a perfect bowl by their cavorting. When putting the stealthcam out the
other day we were trying to catch a picture of the otter and although that didn’t happen on
this occasion we were delighted to get footage of one of the warthog having a great time
rolling around in the mud. Several of the other species also seem to enjoy mud, particularly
the Wildebeest who at times can be seen with exceedingly muddy faces.
