Spring must be on its way here on Pomeroy Reserve! Whilst out doing our farm check
yesterday we came round the corner to find a large tortoise slowly ambling its way along
the track in front of us. The first one we have seen since before the winter. He was a really
large specimen of a leopard tortoise, his shell about 18 inches long. His first reaction to our
arrival was to settle down and retract his head but after a couple of minutes the warmth of
the day tempted him to get up and move on his way, crossing the track and moving off into
the bush.
